Product detailed description

Hi Vis Deer Hair Sedge. Adult caddis dry fly pattern. Combination of CDC and deer hair will make sure the fly stays on the top. Great year round dry fly mainly for trout. Hot orange floss on the top makes the fly more visible.

The Hi Vis Deer Hair Caddis is a floating dry fly designed to imitate adult caddis and sedge insects. Its high-visibility deer hair wing ensures easy spotting while floating naturally on the water surface.

Key Features

  • Deer hair wing provides natural buoyancy and easy visibility
  • Hi-vis coloring makes the fly easy to track on the water
  • Slim, tapered body imitates caddis and sedge insects accurately
  • Lightweight design allows delicate presentation in slow or moderate currents

Use Cases

  • Dry fly fishing during caddis and sedge hatches
  • Targeting rising trout on rivers, streams, and lakes
  • Effective in calm or moderately flowing water
  • Great in duo fishing, fishing it as an indicator with a small nymph below it

This has become my go to fly in the mountains of Scandinavia when searching for fish with a dry in unknown waters and crystal clear fast to medium moving water. In the right conditions from June to August I sometimes don’t need to fish with anything else when fishing with a dry. On a side note I can see that the flies have changed both how they are tied in the front and changing the material in the tail. I prefer how they were made before same as in the picture. The print that fly gave on the water somehow almost every trout, char and grayling could not refuse it if presented correctly.
