Awesome Possum is a general-purpose natural dubbing used for classic nymph and wet fly patterns, including the Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear. The mix of coarser guard hair and fine underfur produces a rough, mottled texture when dubbed onto thread, and can be combed out after tying for extra fibers standing off the body. It's used for nymph and wet fly bodies, especially patterns like the Hare's Ear that call for a rough, natural texture. The blend of guard hair and soft underfur creates an uneven, mottled texture that mimics natural insect coloring and translucency.
