Wapsi Hen Neck Cape. Superb hen capes. Lots of usable feathers from small sizes up to the saltwater sizes.  Although the current trend is for genetic hackles, these style capes have been used for decades to tie with, and in many case are better than genetic because they retain the rounded nature of the feather and also have plenty of 'webbyness' which is essential for soft hackled flies. Available in various natural and dyed colours.

Hen cape feathers are soft-barbed with rounded tips, giving them movement in water rather than the stiffness needed to float a dry fly. Common applications:

- Hackle collars on soft hackles, spiders, and flymphs
- Wings on dry flies (grizzly-winged Adams-style patterns), since the flexible stem lets wings collapse on the cast without twisting the leader
- Collars on small wet flies and streamers
- Legs on realistic nymph and emerger patterns, where the rounded, mottled shape suggests natural insect texture
