Wapsi Turkey Biots. Turkey biots are the stiff fibers stripped from the leading edge of a turkey wing quill. Wapsi sells them pre-stripped and sorted by color, ready to tie without trimming or soaking.

Turkey biots are a core fly tying material for creating segmented bodies and tails on mayfly, stonefly, and damselfly imitations. The natural taper and stiff quill core produce a tight, even segmentation effect when wound around a hook shank, an effect dubbing or thread can't replicate without extra ribbing steps. Common applications: tails on Comparaduns, Sparkle Duns, and standard dry mayfly patterns; segmented bodies on biot-body nymphs and emergers (e.g., Pheasant Tail variants, baetis patterns); stonefly and hopper abdomens; wing cases and legs on select nymph patterns. 4 feathers per pack.
